Martek has continued with its recent expansion into the public sector with completion of the total refurbishment of the Housing Benefits Office for the London Borough of Barnet.

Previously, in a dilapidated state, the offices at Fennella House in Babbington Road, Hendon underwent a major revamp to bring the building up to 21st century standards and make it accessible to all.

Changes included a redesigned reception and waiting area, new interviewing facilities, air conditioning, a wide interview booth for wheelchair access and an induction loop system for visitors with hearing impairments.

As principal contractor, Martek was responsible for all of the works on site including the design manufacture and installation of all of the specialist joinery items, desking and procurement of seating systems and other fittings.
