As a major supplier of bulk food distribution systems to a variety of retail customers in the supermarket and specialty foods sector, Martek has a substantial reputation in the bulk candy/pick and mix market.

Working in conjunction with Monkhills Confectionery, a Cadbury company, Martek was asked to develop a concept and design a candy store to be constructed within the Legoland leisure park in Windsor, England.

The finished facility opened in time for arrival of the first visitors to the park for the 2003 season. Comprising over 350 scoop containers and a variety of merchandising displays for self select bagged confectionery, rock and other candy novelties, the candy store is themed with Lego characters all working towards the production of an endless supply of candy.

As part of the same project, Martek also worked with Lego designers on a concept, similar to pick and mix for the retailing of Lego bricks and other system components. The finished concept was also introduced to their other parks in Billund in Denmark, Legoland Deutschland Gunzburg Bavaria and Legoland, Carlsbad, California, USA.
