As part of an overall £2m project, Martek were selected to provide project management, servery and fixed furniture manufacture and general fit out services. The brief was to provide a new staff catering facility that reflected Nomura’s standing within the International financial community.

Working closely with the project’s designers Ferro, Zest became a reality. The area into which the facility was to be developed was close to the central bank vaults, the IT centre and live office and dealing environments. As a consequence special procedures for all elements of the works had to be devised to guarantee zero interruption or disruption.

A variety of areas were developed - a coffee bar, rapid snack and beverage service and a fuller menu offering. There were a number of different seating concepts and areas incorporated to reflect the variety of use the facility would be put to on a 24 hour basis.

Finishes were of the highest specification, Amtico flooring and mirrored ceilings. All servery, service and eating surfaces in black granite complimented by a variety of solid timbers. The lighting was from Lumino and the loose furniture from Morris and Morgan.
