One of the first major multiplex cinemas and for many years one of Irelands most successful, UCI Coolock, just to the North of Dublin’s city centre underwent substantial upgrading and modernisation during 2006.
Briefed to create a space with a difference, Douglas Wallace Architects and Designers certainly achieved that with their award winning EYE Cinema in Galway on the west coast of Ireland.
At 30 screens and 5,823 seats, the Warner Village Theatre at Star City is the largest and most prestigious multiplex in the UK.
A challenging and ambitious project for this Michigan based entrepreneurial exhibitor, comprising an 18-screen theatre complex with 3,800 seats.
Having worked previously for SGC Cinemas at Dungarvan in South East Ireland and in a consultative capacity on the fist Movies@ project in Dundrum, Martek were delighted to be given the opportunity to design manufacture and install the retail areas at the most recent addition to the Movies@ circuit at Swords just to the north of Dublin City.
This 14 screen development for Millenium Theatres in Lisbon was completed in Autumn 2003 in the brand new stadium complex developed for Sporting Clube du Portugal one of the many new arenas built for the Euro 2004 championships hosted by Portugal.

From their first location at Stevenage, Martek has worked closely with Cine UK, as the company has become the UK’s fasted growing and most successful multiplex operator.
A flagship project for this successful Regional exhibitor, incorporating an 18-screen theatre (including an IMAX) within a multi-use venue with banqueting facilities and home to the new corporate head office.
