Briefed to create a space with a difference, Douglas Wallace Architects and Designers certainly achieved that with their award winning EYE Cinema in Galway on the west coast of Ireland. The 8,200 sq meter complex comprises 9 state of the art screens and a total of 1,200 seats.

Working with the design team, Martek developed each of the retail areas to compliment the overall architectural approach. The concession stand in particular is very unusual in that it appears to have been hewn from a solid block of bright yellow Corian with each of the service and display elements integrated into the overall seamless approach.

All manufactured and prefabricated at Martek’s Addington production facility, the bars, fixed furniture, box office positions and concession / pick and mix areas were installed during the finishing stages of the project.
