As the world’s most famous department store, Harrods of Knightsbridge is renowned for the range and quality of its products, standards of service and professionalism of its staff.

With over 4,000 people on site, the task of catering for them throughout the day at a standard consistent with store’s quality ethos is a major task. So too was the job of keeping these meals in production while the entire catering facility was remodelled including the strip out of all the serveries, installation of new concepts and self vend areas.

The three-month project, mostly carried out at night and during the weekends on a phased programme, comprised the strip out of all areas, replacement of flooring and other decorative finishes, M & E, equipment and ceilings.

Martek manufactured all servery counters, till stations and other elements of bespoke joinery. The new 600-seat restaurant opened on time and to the complete approval of store and catering staff.
